Winter Park Mobile Massage

Tell us about the history and inspiration of Winter Park Mobile Massage.

Winter Park Mobile Massage began in Spring on 2015. I chose mobile because my parents always had a massage therapist come to the house and the relationship with clients is different when they are welcoming you into their private home. There is more trust involved and a feeling of being a part of their home life. Everything is only a 15-30 minute drive and I love having time in between clients to enjoy time with our dog.

What do you enjoy most about being a massage therapist?

How grateful clients are for the way I make them feel and knowing that everyone I touch I am making a difference in their life.

What are some of your favorite massage therapy approaches?

I absolutely love Thai Massage. A traditional Thai massage is a unique wellness therapy that is a combination of working powerful pathways in the body that encourage healing and proper flow. It is used in Thailand as a medical discipline to aid in recovery of ailments related to imbalance. And you get to stay clothed!  I also love the Berkana Method of Mindful Expressionism®.

Let's dive into more about Berkana Method of Mindful Expressionism®.  What do you like about the method? What type of client's is it best suited for?

What I like most is the profound change that is created in the client's body tissues and life journey. Through Mindful Expressionism®, client's can resolve pain complaints, address limiting core musculature dysfunction and increase the freedom of movement. Everyone at some point in their life is a candidate for Mindful Expressionism®.

How is it different from other types of massage therapy?

In Mindful Expressionism® there is no protocol or agenda. Practitioners of Mindful Expressionism®. use our deep understanding of the body, intuition and being present to allow the body to guide you where the the practitioner needs to go.

how do you integrate Mindful Expressionism® into your practice?

Either a client comes to me for this specific work or a current client has restricting tissues that are not able to be addressed with a typical massage approach. A treatment plan is created with a consultation and multiple sessions.

What training and specializations have you completed in Mindful Expressionism?

Over the past two years I have completed levels 1 & 2 of The Berkana Method of Mindful Expressionism®. The technical aspects of this advanced training includes a blend of Structural and/or Normalization of Soft Tissue Techniques, Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Trigger Point Therapy, with a blend of traditional Asian style bodywork. The client and practitioner work together during multiple treatments to create a profound change in tissues.  My training in Mindful Expressionism® training includes:

  • soft tissue dysfunction in Extremities with Carpal Tunnel and Plantar Fasciitis Specialization
  • Pelvis and sciatica specialization and soft tissue dysfunction in head, face, neck and jaw with Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ )Specialization.

Tell us about the mindfulness aspect of the practice.

The mindful aspect of Mindful Expressionism® bodywork is the most important part, allowing the practitioner the courage to explore deep holding in the muscles.
